Head Gasket torn
Had the cover off for valve adjustment. Went to wipe the gasket clean and may be pulled a bit too hard? It's basically a slice right through, breaking the loop the gasket makes.
I'm thinking of using something like a silicone sealant to glue the ends together for the time being. First time I've had this happen in the little time I've been working on the bike, so any guidance would be appreciated. |

Head gasket or Valve cover gasket?
Seeing how you had the cover off for valve adjustment I'm going to guess it's the CYLINDER_HEAD_COVER and not the actual head gasket separating the cylinder head from engine block. Best option is to replace the gasket but some high temperature engine silicone sealer should do the trick until a replacement gasket is obtained. Use something like this Permatex-3 |

You should be scraping off and reapplying the liquid gasket around it anyway.
