Need some advice...
So I need some advice.. I just installed my 15T sproket, and I like the bike feels good, i shift less and RPM's are not as high anymore, only issue is I feel like i needs more power in 6th gear... It feels like it needs a little more oomph.. I haven't rode much since the swap though. I have 2 shims on the needles, Area P exhaust, snorkel removed, and Iridium plugs. I was thinking about doing the pods. But from what I've read most people who put the pods on replace the needles, adjust the idle screws. Seems like a lot of fine tuning is needed.. Should i just put in the K&N replacement filter? Or get use to the new gearing? I don't really want decreased fuel economy and have to mess alot with fine tuning the carbs. Is swapping the jets really necessary with the pods or would I be able to get away with just two shims? The bikes finally running good how I have It set up right now.. Ill try riding it and get use to the new sprocket and take it from there. Just trying to get different opinions from people who have messed with replacing the stock filter and getting rid of the airbox. I also want to get rid of all the Ca emissions crap, but that's kind of irrelevant..
Anyways thanks in advance for any help or advice.. |

If you install pods you will need to change your jets. It can be a bit of a pain to get it right.

Thanks you guys, ill look into the other filters. And I do agree getting the carbs out was time consuming..
On another note i took her out for a long ride down the hwy, I managed to pull 105 indicated, with a annoying crosswind, going down a slight hill. It still had another 800-1000 rpm left but it just wouldn't go or i would reach an uphill... Overall pleased with the set-up, but in the end it's still a 250... So I can't cry over not enough power... |
