I would take the Ducati Streetfighter over the other three, if it were offered here.

I agree...but it looked like the thread was going in the direction of factory built streetfighter "type" bikes so I just thought Id chime in with my favorite Streetfighter "looking" bike

this is not a street fighter but all it would need is a headlight .I ran this in October of 2008 .Set my first land speed record with it.

Here is the current state of mine

I bought mine crashed for $2k. Only had front fairing damage and no front fender. I set it up like in the pic to get it on the road. Over the winter I want to clean it up more. Make some side panels for the headlight and figure out the paint. I rode it a bunch over the summer and fall and dunno if it's worth it to try to upgrade the suspension for street riding. But aesthetically its nicer to have the USD front end.

Customfighters.com has lots of cool projects. The links in my sig go there. To me a streetfighter is simply taking a sportbike and making it unique, without fairings.

Ironically they are pre-gen ex250 rear turn signals.

I call 'em "Street Fighters" vs. "Factory Fighters."

Buell really wanted to push some of their models as street fighters.

I have rubber covered "P" clamps on the forks with aluminum brackets that bolt onto the headlight. There is an extra hole on the aluminum brackets that the signals are bolted to.

^Clamps, I think I got mine at mcmaster.com though.

I found this video awhile ago and thought its quite fitting for this thread.

Link to original page on YouTube.

BTW the duel front disc is alittle overkill BUT I gotta give it to the guy for doing the research and tracking down the parts off of another model and executing the mod.

BTWBTW I love his choice for mirrors. probably couldnt have done better considering the bikes shape. Not sure on the trunk net thingy but gotta say its different.

I was wondering when someone was going to post this.

As for the dual-disc setup with the mirror-image caliper: I've seen several people accidentally get mirrored EBC pads that were probably intended for that Suzuki Thunder he was talking about.

Got a little time today so I did a little work. I was dissatisfied with the way the sides where looking so I pulled the sides off and started thinking. Moved the coils under the tank and cut down the sides more. I think it frames the motor much nicer now. Just need to relocate the overflow.

Also started mocking up the round headlight. It was getting to be a bit of work to get the old headlight to look right. I'm diggin the round but dunno. I'm also gonna look into putting the dirty bars on it. Already move the clutch cable routing to get it a little further.

Thoughts on the round headlight?

Thx
Bob

Thanks J

I ziptied the coils to the frame rails on each side of the main backbone of the frame under the tank. I put rubber all the way around the coils so they wouldn't rub against the frame and eat the powdercoating. Anyone see any issues with having the coils there? I did the same thing on my ex500 and had zero issues.

Thanks
Bob

I'd think as long as they weren't vibrating and were insulated there shouldn't be any problems, but I am not an electronics guy.

You should paint the radiator black!

I really love naked sportbikes more than any other kind (Z1000 and ER6Ns are my faves), but Im not sure I could go without a windscreen, heh. This ZG Sport Touring screen has really spoiled me :P .

Keep at it .
