Saw one on the hwy one day oscillating back and forth. The oscillations would speed up when he rolled off the throttle and slow down when he was accelerating.

He didn't seem too worried about it...

Ground clearance might be a problem also. It wouldn't be long before the headers had a flat spot on them.

When in doubt, throttle out...

Front end wobble usually can easily corrected by acceleration;
slowing down or grabbing the brakes will put more weight onto the front end, likely make the problem worse.
My 04 Ninja 250 used to do it all the time with OEM tires, I replaced the rear shock to a 09 unit,
replaced the rear tire with a 130/90-16 with taller profile, still wobbles when I let go both grips, but much better than OEM.

Today's wanted bike:

Apparently, Bimota may be done this time around. Really unfortunate. The best of the best IMO.

A friend of mine took one out of the box and the break-in was the warm up lap for a race at Pocono. Yes, he also won his race. Those bikes were bullet proof.

I didn't get mine until 1999. Fairing was pretty busted up but the rest of the bike ran great, I was fixing it up and riding it for about four or five months, one day a co-worker said there was a really nice used Honda at the Kawasaki dealership for sale. I rode over to take a look and it was a 1997 Honda Blackbird in that deep ruby red color. Dealer looked at my old GPz and said "I know someone looking for one of those as a project" and offered me three times what I had paid for it as a trade and a pretty decent price on the Honda. I rode home on the Blackbird.

On lists of bikes I want (again) I'd put both the GPz900 and the Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird.

Mud? We just got 18" of snow in WI and that's looking pretty good for some outdoors fun.

The bike I want today: 2017+ Duke 390.

I haven't really paid a lot of attention to the Duke 390 until recently when I realized it had a 2017 update. I looked what was included with that update and came away very impressed. This is a seriously nice little bike. I want one. I have to wonder if the RC390 is up for a refresh soon. I know they have the RC390R, but that is really just a regular RC390 with a bunch of expensive bits bolted on, for a LOT more money.

KTM just had a demo day here in CA and I got to try both those bikes! I liked something about each and disliked something about each.

Good about the RC390: sport bike feel. Looks fabulous.
Bad: Did not like the way the engine felt. Didn't like the dashboard.

Good about the Duke390: Power felt great on this bike, and the dashboard was much better than the RC.
Bad: Didn't like the higher center of balance as much, though a person would probably get used to it and be fine.
I liked the Duke MUCH better riding it than I did sitting on the showroom. Really glad I tried this bike on the road.

Italians make motorcycles like their going to make love to them. That's the way a motorcycle should look not like the "Star Wars" crotch rockets coming out of Japan today. They should have painted it a color, not a shade.

Come on Tom, you know first-hand how dangerous those Harleys can be.

Best to stick to sport bikes, they are a lot safer.

I saw that CRF450L... looks awesome.

As a former owner of a KTM 690, I can say I want something that's not so high strung and maintenance intensive. Sure the KTM was a fire breathing monster, and that's fun for a while, but it's not a bike I would want to live with a for a long time. Spent more time maintaining the KTM and dealing with it's fuel injection issues than I did riding it.
