Rate the last movie you watched

As the thread title states, just rate the last movie you watched.

I just watched the unrated version of 40-Year-Old Virgin while at work a bit ago.
It's about a 4/10. I just couldn't relate to any of the characters.

It's more like an 8/10 for me.
It's very humorous & Steve Carrol (is that how his last name is spelled?) delivers a believable performance with his role.
Also, the supporting cast, from Seth Rogen down to Jonah Hill, were pretty awesome.

Tower Heist: the movie opened slow with lots of build up, got to the action, which was good, then seemed like it rushed into a kind of hokey ending. There were enough laughs to keep it going, and I enjoyed it.

7/10

Midnight in Paris. Gets a 6.8/10. Odd movie. Sort of predictable but had its moments. Not a fan of Owen Wilson but he fit the part. You might enjoy it a little more if you're into art history.

Tower Heist: the movie had a simple plot, very obvious and easy to predict. It was filled with laughs so it kept me happy. The actors did well and were all funny. Lacked hot girls.

I rate it a 6.5/10.

Watched Cashback (2006) last. It is a different movie, very artsy. I'd rate it 7/10. It probably rates higher with me, but my taste in movies doesn't fit with a lot of other people. So I always rate a little less to be safe. I really enjoyed it, for me it is more of 9/10. Then again, I'm an artist myself, so the movie somewhat inspires the artist in me.

Watched Limitless last night w/the wife.... here's the review I put on Flixster...

Gave it 2.5/5 stars

Movie was OK, decent thriller. Acting was only so-so. My problem: there's no one in the film for me to root for, except maybe the guy's girlfriend. The protagonist is a lazy, dimwitted asshole clinging to the bottom rung who, thanks to drugs, becomes a wealthy genius that causes pain & suffering for just about everyone who knows him. He ultimately overcomes the conflict into which he's thrust as result of his own decisions and even ends up coming out well ahead and supposedly drug-free.

HESHER.

If you haven't seen this movie, you need to. Especially if you like Metallica and Joesph Gordon Levitt. It changed my life. Natalie Portman and Rainn Wilson are in it too.

Best movie I have seen in a very long time.

10/10

I saw that movie with my SO on Tuesday. I loved it.
All the actors performed their parts perfectly.

I was actually sick on Wednesday and had a movie marathon so I've got 4 movies to review:

Hobo with a Shotgun - over the top, brutal, gory, and totally fun to watch. If you watched Grindhouse then you know this film is based off of one of the fake trailers (just like Machete a year or so ago), if you liked Machete then you'd probably like this movie. I liked Machete more b/c it had a bit more humor to it. Hobo with a Shotgun wasn't trying to be serious, just not as tongue-in-cheek. It was definitely more brutal than Machete. 3 stars outta 5.

Faster - Dwayne Johnson plays a just-released convict who was busted as the getaway driver for a group of bank robbers. He's out to kill the group who double-crossed his crew and killed all of them and left him for dead. All the while, Billy Bob Thornton plays a detective trying to track him down. It's pretty by-the-numbers and the twists are telegraphed from early on in the movie. There's a subplot with a hitman who's hired to take care of Johnson's character that is just pointless, well.. not pointless as it does work to reveal the big twist at the end, but his character development is obnoxious and pointless. The action was pretty dull as well. If you like the "turn your brain off" action flicks, this one is for you. I'm one of those people too but this movie was still just too boring for me to really enjoy it that much. 2 outta 5 stars

True Grit (the remake) - I don't dig westerns, just never have. I liked Tombstone, didn't really care for Unforgiven, but really, really liked True Grit. It touched on all emotions for me and had bits of suspense and a little comedy to balance out the drama. I won't run out and buy it but I'm sure I'll be watching it again some time. 4.5 outta 5 stars

Primer - a film that probably requires multiple viewings, it gets a bit twisted up in the 2nd half. Definitely not a film you can turn on and just watch as you drift in and out of the room while doing other things; it's convoluted to say the least. I won't really go into the story but just suffice to say it deals with time travel. I only really watched it b/c I'd seen it brought up in other time travel movie discussions and wanted to know what people were talking about. I know I could benefit from a repeated viewing but I really don't care enough to bother, maybe if I did re-watch it I'd appreciate it more and thus rate it higher. 2.5 outta 5 stars

Just streamed "Downfall" from Netflix. I have seen so many of the mocks on youtube I had to watch the original. For a history nut like me it was a great watch.

My wife talked me into watching Bridesmaids. Kristen Wigg was pretty funny in it. It is partially a chick flick, but overall it was pretty funny. I'd give it 4/5.

I don't care what you think of me, but I think that was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen...

Bridesmaid was disappointing IMO. It started off pretty funny & didn't seem too much like a chick flick, but as it wore on, it got more and more chick flicky until the very predictable ending.

I watched The Dark Knight again the other day.
It's a definite 100/100.
The perfect superhero movie. It had the best blend of fantasy mixed in with a bit of realism. There weren't exaggerated scenes that could make you think "bullish*t."
I wish they didn't cast Maggie Gyllenhaal in it, but that's just my opinion. Her performance was still superb.

You have to admit, the bathroom/bridal shop scene was REALLY funny.

95% chick flick, and not even a good one. I felt victimized after leaving the theater. Used and dirty. It came in on the curtails of movies like "the hangover" and "get him to the greek" and they used that to their advantage, conning that audience into thinking it would be the same type of movie. It gets a 2/10 from me for the 2 times I laughed while watching it.
