2007 ninja No start CDI issue

Good Afternoon, I'm new to this forum so if in the wrong spot mods feel free to remove.

2007 Ex250F - Not starting -- Coils are not being powered up but are tested with multimeter, and within correct spec. Kill switch, and ignition switch are in proper working order, also tested with multimeter. Check fuses in junction box also using multimeter, and they also test good. Stator Pickup Coil also tested good. Battery is reading 12.6v-13v.

However, when testing the grey wire out of the pigtail (picture attached), it shows I am only getting 10.38V going to the CDI.

Has anyone else here on this forum had the same issue not getting 12v to the CDI?

Really frustrated with this -- any input would be appreciated, thank you!

If that grey wire is the one from ignition switch, it has a 100 ohm resistor feeding it, hence the voltage drop. The TCI unit won't function without that resistor, as an anti-hotwiring feature.

Welcome to the forum, Brian!

This is your problem. With key ON and kill-switch set to RUN, you should have full-battery voltage on both terminals of each coil. Trace power starting at battery, through ignition switch and fuse-box all way to coils and see where power disappears.

That is correct. Grey wire is anti-theft detection circuit and it should have lower power than battery. Operating power to igniter comes in on different wire.

Most likely your main issue is lack of power to coils. Track than down and fix so you have power to coils and bike should run properly.
