Honda Brings the CB1000R to America at Last!

Honda gets back to basics with in 2011 with the CB1000R standardAfter baffling the market in 2010 with the over-engineered (and over-priced) DN-01 and the auto-shifting VFR1200F, American Honda gets back to basics in 2011 with the CB1000R standard, which will be offered for sale in America for the first time. We've ridden this bike while on assignment in Europe-where it's been sold since '08-and were impressed to find a naked bike that offers legitimate open-class performance, thanks to an engine and suspension closely related to the '07 CBR1000RR. Though the fuel-injected, 999cc inline-four has been slightly retuned to shift the powerband into a range that's more useful for street riding, it still puts out nearly 125 bhp and provides an exhilarating top-end rush. A fully adjustable 43mm fork, two-way adjustable shock and radial brakes help the bike handle very well, too.Looks like Kawasaki's Z1000 just got some competition!
