False neutral
Anyone else found a false neutral between 5th and 6th all changes up the box feel the same except for the last one. There is a second resistance as it shifts, useful as it tells you that you are in 6th but if you don’t push it through the second you end up in a neutral. Is mine the only one or is this common to all?

I have never felt that resistance between 5-6, but then again I can hardley sense anything through my leather boot on the shifter, except between 1-2 where the neutral actually resides. I use clutchless upshifts so maybe that makes it harder to tell....

Never got that on my 08. I believed that that resistance you speak of is ONLY between. 1st and 2nd

I remember people talking about it last year on the 08's. Think after an oil change and some miles it quit happening.
Ours didnt want to go into second after about the first 100 miles, or it pop outta second back into neutral. The factory oil was sticky/gummy crap. Soon as we changed it out, shifted like a whole new bike. |

Hey! I thought I was nuts, but that happens to me, too! I haven't had my first oil change yet, so maybe it will quit afterwards. (Thank goodness...I'm only MOSTLY insane!)
