Note to self: If you are going to ride like an idiot don't make video evidence of it.

Glad he lost licence. Here, it would just be slap on wrist and fine.

Over 80 MPH is Reckless Driving with criminal penalties of up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine. And that's with a 70 MPH speed limit on most of the interstate. Yeah our law allows a judge to put you in jail for 12 months if you are driving more than 10 MPH over the speed limit on an interstate. Over 90 MPH is jail time (at least a couple days) in just about every jurisdiction. The rule I have heard is 90 MPH is one night in jail and every MPH over that is an additional night. Edited to add: Here is a story about a guy that did 3 days in jail for 93 MPH. https://jalopnik.com/never-speed-in-...-in-1613604053 |

In CA, over 100mph is jail time. About 80mph is max before getting ticket. I'd like to see more licence revocations. Never see it here, but common in Europe. And they even have lifetime licence revocations, where you can never ever drive again. I'd like to see that here, get some of stupid drivers off roads. |

back in the earlier 2000's when I lived VA, I could of sworn they had a three strike rule and on your 3rd strike you lost your licence for good, don't know if they still have it or not.

Here in NC I was told by a Sheriff's deputy that their official policy is not to chase a motorcycle if the rider runs. That pretty much says that if you see a flashing light behind you on a sheriff's car, open the throttle!
On the other hand, the state police have hotrod cars capable of something like 170 mph, and I haven't heard they don't chase. I wouldn't run, by the way, unless there were some pretty extenuating circumstances. |

Yeah, running on bike pretty much always end badly. Adrenaline messes with judgement and makes you do stupid things. In this land of no personal responsibility, perps have actually successfully sued police and city for injuries they received while trying to elude arrest. CHP has some Camaros that does 155mph.
I’d run from this guy, just to see how fast it’ll go! Looks like not just Turbo, but TurboS for +50bhp extra! |

See if you can do a ride-along with that agency, and ask the officer how fast it goes!

I think modern technology like radar and cameras can really make charges stick nowadays. I remember back in mid-'80s on Skyline, some Olympic champion was doing same thing. Wiped out and seriously injured his passenger. No witnesses, no cameras. Nothing came of it. It all went away quietly...
Although as usual, with money, power and influence you can pretty much get away with murder. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/n...328-story.html Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; July 27th, 2018 at 02:40 PM. |

What the heck was this guys problem? It looks like he was trying to catch up with the group and pull over and bitch out the lead rider.

Or un-related police-chase at bottom? There's been times I've committed infraction and it took police quite long time to catch up to me. Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; July 27th, 2018 at 02:38 PM. |
