Theres a screw -__-

There is a screw on my front tire. I think managed to run over it when I was riding today. The screw seems to be small like a 2-3 centimeter length. I was wondering, do I need to replace the front tire or can I do something about this? If you guys do recommend the change the tires, what tires would it be? Right now I have stock tires.

Thank you,

A Tomato

Thats up to you, you wanna have a blow out when on two wheels? i know some people like unicycles but... i think i'd shovel out 180 bucks on a new tire and save 1000 bucks on hospital bills.

You might be able to get a plug patch... as a hold over until you can get the tire. Tire shops have these in abundance.

i dont know motorcycle tires. I deal with car tires at my dealership, I dont know if its the same for motorcycles but stay away from pirelli's people adore them but they wear like sh*t. must be the name....

Goodyear and michelin are good tires (yet again, I dont know how reputable they are on motorcycles)

throw the damaged tire away or use it to make some cool sandals.

Thinking about that.
Maybe the S20's, what do you think about 150/60 rear? That's the smallest they make.
Would that fit the stock rim?

A mushroom plug should be ok on the rear, once it's in the thread. I wouldn't be a fan of plugging the front & not a hope of doing anything but replacing one with a damaged sidewall.

For the price, the S20's seem to be the better buy in comparison to the BT-016's.

I got mine for $189.99 shipped from Revzilla through a pricematch.

150/60/17 fits no problem with no rubbing, I had a BT-016 in the same size.

Oh I see. lol Tomato boy. What brand is s20 TrailerBoy531 ? I don't usually go to twists or race track on my bike. I just commute, so I am looking for safe tires. Are s20's good sticky tires? Thanks

Bridgestone S20. If you only commute then they will be more than you will ever need as the S20's are fit to do some track days with, so you may be better off going towards a sport touring tire if you want to focus on longevity/mileage. I don't mind changing tires out every season because I'd rather have piece of mind rather than getting every last ounce of tread/mileage out of a pair of tires.

You can consult the wiki for the newgen tire options:

http://www.ninjette.org/wiki/New_gen_tire_options

Another popular tire is the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II which is available in a 140/70/17 rear.

If you're going to do track (or lots of canyons) for the love of god get the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.

If you just commute, do not get them. They are a soft and sticky compound which wont give you as much life. That's where I suggest the BT016s (Bridgestone Battlax)
