ERIK Buell Racing is expected to unveil its next new model, the 1190RX, at a US bike show next month.

Little is known about the 1190RX. It’s expected to be powered by the Rotax engine from the 1190RS, EBR’s first bike since the firm rose from the ashes of the original Buell company, which was unceremoniously shut down by owner Harley-Davidson in 2009.

But the rest of the new model is said to be completely new.

The official EBR Facebook page says more on the 1190RX will follow soon.

In July the firm uploaded a teaser picture of what was believed to be the RX. It was thought to be a cheaper, higher production derivative of the RS.

The picture showed a machine sharing the RS’ sports styling and riding position, as well as its fuel-in-the-frame chassis.

Erik Buell Racing has previously said the 1190RS will be followed by three more models.

The 1190RX is expected to be unveiled at the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Florida, on October 16.
