Exclamation my 2010 ninja is running sluggish (HELP)

I recently purchased a 2010 ninja 250r with 3400 miles.

The issue is that it runs very slow.. Ive owned three 08-up ninjas in the past and they didn't run this slow.. It almost feels like a slipping clutch in car because the rpm's will jump when I WOT and the bike is very slow to gain speed.
Is it possible for a bike to have a 'slipping clutch'?

I paid 2400 for the bike, which Is a pretty darn good deal here in Austin TX.
Now Im thinking it was too good to be true.

I bought it from the original owner, and he said he changed the oil ONE time at 1800 miles. Should I change the oil again now at 3400 miles??
I just bought the bike yesterday. The motor sounds good. No knocking, no ticking, sounds like new, and idles great.
Any suggestions?

Check the clutch cable adjustment. Change the oil. Ride off into the "Amarillo Sky".

This.

Maybe he put "Enegy Conserving" oil when he changed it? Any one more knowledgable than me may be able to answer is that could be a cause.

Yup, change the oil and put the proper oil in. The clutch is slipping due to the energy conserving car oil.

What is the overall condition of the bike? Brakes, air filter, tires, battery, clutch adjustment etc?
