Graphics

Thinking about doing a different color combo on my black ride. The red flames are ok, but I want to change it up some. I was not sure if anyone knew of a place that had a graphics kit for the 250F's. I was trying to avoid the custom route if possible.

I was thinking more a race-type graphics kit. I may have to dig something up and cut it myself.

Does anyone know of a site that sells quality, realistic looking carbon fiber vinyl? I've ordered a couple of sheets from vendors on ebay that just look like checkered chrome more than anything. The ones on tapewerks.com look pretty good, but I was just curious if anyone had actually seen the vinyl in real life? thanks.

I run a sign shop for a living and I recently got a new carbon fiber in that looks MUCH more realistic than the old checkered stuff. The only downfall to it is that it doesn't conform well around curves, it's fairly stiff (like Chrome vinyl if you've ever used that). Here's what it looks like...

I assume it's the same stuff you're seeing on tapewerks.

I was thinking the same thing...

I also have a black 2007 with the red flames. I had to peel one off because it had scratches (from the prior owner). I was thinking about taking them all off and doing carbon fiber flames in the same or a different pattern. Ya know, people say those flames are silly, but if Kawasaki did something different and one of us created those flames, they'd say "Hey, those flames look kinda cool!" But the red is a bit much for me and I'd like something more suttle and mature. I saw that same carbon fiber decal material at Pep Boys when I was on vacation in Florida. I should have bought some. It looked fairly realistic.

Where in Texas are you at anyway? I'm near San Antonio.

that's the best looking carbon fiber vinyl I've seen so far. Do you have it available to order?

I don't normally sell vinyl off the roll, but it looks very similar if not the exact same as the stuff from tapeworks.

Drop by a graphics shop.
With a little money....they can do just about anything you want.

Most likely that will need to be my route. I want a more race inspired look. The simple flames really don't accomplish that.

What pattern/style?

I'm sure interested in seeing what you come up with for a design. I was considering doing something original as well. My wife was going to help me design something as well. Please tell me what you have in mind or send some pics please. If I had some kind of pattern to cover up the last owners scratches on the fairing that would be a bonus.

I have been thinking about a style like this. Using green stickers for the stripes, or using white.

I may end up just buying sheets of vinyl from a local supplier and cutting it myself.

I'm still looking for other ideas.

I just pulled out some older cycle mags to see what I can think up that would work. Also surfing the net finding AMA Superbike, Moto GP, and other images that I can pull from.

It will have a number setup on the tail of the bike and possibly on the front (covering part of the windscreen).

What I am going to do is take a couple of HQ pics of my bike, load them into photoshop, and then start cutting out the bike. That way I can draw shapes behind it and come up with a good graphics design.

oooh, I want to see what you come up with. This will be interesting.
Speaking of MotoGP, this is what my buddy did with his GXR. The Rizla treatment.

Oh my lord, VERY nice job mate. Nice to see that you chopped on the ugly fender too! Excellent job, I think it looks amazing, and probably looks better with some type of coloured rim too.

I can't bring myself to paint it for some reason. I only spent 2k on the bike, so spending cash to repaint it just is not something I want to do. I could paint with spray paint, but it would have to be very small parts.

Ohh thanks for that site! There is a local company around here I was planning on going through, but some of those look pretty nice. Plus I can mix and match what I want if I so desire.

i wish i could make green cat eyes design over my headlight. i got the idea when i saw my black cat staring at me with his wicked eyes. if they would have a kind of film that would look similar to colored contacts that i could put over the headlights.
