weird starting problem

Well when I start my bike it just clicks at the magnetic switch. Thought it was my battery but it tests at 12.3 volts and 14.3ish when running. You can pop start it then it will run fine and sometimes start with the switch but most times it just clicks. Is their any way to test the switch to see if that is it ? I dont really want to spend 63 bucks if its not the problem

Check for loose ground. Check your starter. Sounds like a bad spot on your commutator.

Corrosion possibly, faulty connections?

A good battery fully charged reads around 12.6 volts. If your meter is accurate, 12.3 volts is a sign of impending death.

Autozone. That's where I got a new battery. In the mean time, learn how to bump start the bike. You'll want to know how to do that so you don't get stranded somewhere.

Battery could have a bad cell. Check what the voltage is as you turn over the starter.

And yeah I grabbed my last battery at autozone. I think it was around $40 with exchange. Just see if it is a "wet" or "dry" battery. The "dry" battery will have to sit over night after they add the acid to it.
