tire size question....

im looking to get new tires for my little 08 250r and was thinking about getting the shinko 006 podiums. will running 110/70 in the front and running 140/60 in the rear cause any problems? what about running 120/60 in the front and 140/60 in the rear? thanks!

In order to help you out, we will need to know what type of riding you do the majority of the time. The tire options are much different if you are a commuter vs a canyon carver. As far as a 110 & 140 rear, there should not be any out of the gate problems as many of us run those sizes with success.

Let us know please.

sorry i didnt know where to post this tire question and thanks for moving it alex.. as for the riding style, its mostly a weekend canyon carver. right now i have 110/140 supercorsas on it but, they are 70 series and they run fabulous.flicking the bike is very easy and turns in very well! i was just concerned about the height differences of the tires and the effect of the steering thats why i threw in the 120/60 vs 110/70 front tire so that the height of both tires are the same. plus i like matching tires =D

The short of it is.

1. Radials are best for fun
2. Matching doesn't matter in the least
3. No one on here will suffer or benefit from minor changes in ride height with different aspect ratios, your simply nowhere near fast enough
4. The larger the aspect ratio on the front tire the better and more even it will tip into the corners, this is a good thing.
5. stay with the 110 on a stock width front wheel
6. 140 rear should be fine but if you change gearing make sure you drop the rear as opposed to going to a 15t front. this will ensure you maintain clearance to the front of the swingarm.

I'll let the other explain the details
