Rear stands??

Recently picked up an 07 250 and wanted to get a pair of stands. I got the front figured out but I can’t find anything on rear stands. Do we have places for spools or is there another stand type that works better. Or maybe the center stand works as I think it lifts the rear wheel off the ground.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

My '05's center stand doesn't quite get the rear wheel off the pavement with the rear tire I have, so I put a small piece of 1/2" plywood down for the stand to rest on. It works fine that way.

Welcome to the board, Zoi!

It came with a center stand which works fine. If I need the rear tire to clear the floor, is easy to grab the little piece of plywood. I'm not sure why anything else would be better.

All bikes should have centerstands! And should also have enough clearance so the centerstands dont drag even at full lean. But I get that there are inherent compromises in seat height, ground clearance, and advertised weight, keeping them off virtually all sportbikes and many other bikes. Be happy that your '07 comes with such a centerstand - it is quite useful.

The swingarms were given spool bosses for the 2008 redesign. Coincidentally, the 2008's onward don't have a centerstand.

You can buy rear "spool" stands that have pads rather than hooks. They simply go under the swingarm and lift it up, without any sort of engagement. That's what I used on my 500 (with centerstand, without spool bosses) before I did a swingarm swap. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...sku_id=1127303 is one example. My cheap set (they look a lot like the Venom ones) came with swappable pads and spool hooks, I'm pretty sure.

A centerstand is very handy and will work in most cases, but there are some tasks where a rear stand works better.
