First Solo ride
I installed my clip-ons and got my adjustable levers today, so after installing them, I decided the hell with it, lets go get some gas and test it out. I took a quick ride around the neighborhood to get a feel for the levers and clip-ons, then out onto the main street doing 50mph for a mile before pulling into a gas station to fill up, afterwards I decided to take the long way home, so I went another 6 miles cruising around 45-50mph, I stopped to turn left into my neighborhood, and never kicked down into first.. I was in second.... and stalled the bike out, I just stayed calm, pulled the clutch it and started the bike up, then turned into the neighborhood, this is when I realized I wasn't in first gear.... other than that, It was a great ride and I'm glad I'm starting to acquire more confidence as a rider.
Clip-ons rock =) |

Congrats! It's always fun to remember the 'firsts'
-first highway ride -first passenger -first railroad crossing -first cager road rage -first track day -first knee drag -first crash (?!?) each is a step along the way to becoming a seasoned rider!

yeah railroad crossing is fine. in Minneapolis, chances are whenever I ride I'll cross at least 2 railroads.
Just be more careful if the rails are raised higher than the road. Otherwise, you're fine. |

Im still waiting on first Cager Rage. I think that will be a good one.
Another I absolutely cannot wait for is my first Night ride. Due to restrictions on new riders, we cannot ride 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise. For two years!

Don't know your whole history as a rider so I'll just say not to rush things. There's a difference between confidence and being cocky.

I would add 1st drawbridge to that. Like when they use metal grate instead of pavement and you feel all swervy and unstable. Freaked me out the 1st few times. I still kinda hate it.
