Get the 712 rear. It's great
Can't speak for the 740.

I have a pre-gen (16" rim) and love the rubber of my Kendas': soft, durable, zero skids in wet and dry conditions (only street riding).

My shinko has been wonderful in all types of riding. Never felt it slip even in the wettest of conditions. Im not 100% on which one it is. I also cant speak for the kenda but I have the shinko on both my ninja and my shadow and they both do well in the twisties. I push it hard in the corners to. I have only put 2k miles on the ninja but the tire still looks new minus the nipples being gone.

Looks like I had my facts wrong about stock front 110, its 100 - sorry all. For a bike that's gonna get ridden twice a month or so I think I'll give the Shinkos a try.
