Upper Fairing
What do the two bolts in the picture attach to. I bought a wrecked bike and am trying to put it back together. It looks like they screw in to the upper stay but there are just two holes in the upper stay. Is there something missing they thread in to. Thanks.

You are correct - they screw into the upper stay, which should have some threads they will go into
I have an extra stay if you are in need of one - it is slightly bent though (you can't tell really - I bought it because my fairings wouldn't fit 100% and it ended up not making a big difference and it bends back easily) Edit: now that I think of it I'm pretty sure you need 2 mounting tabs that are attached to the front fairings - I want to say the mirrors are attached there too |

Fail.
They do not attach to the upper stay. They attach to a mounting bracket for the stock mirrors that mounts inside between the front cowl and the black plastic gauge...thing. See pic: At the bottom of the mirror you can see the two bolts the mirror attaches to as well as one hole - that would be the threaded hole that the bolt in question screws in to.
