Post airbox removal questions
Hello,
So i've removed the stock airbox and put on a K&N pod filter and jetted my carb with a Factory Pro jet kit with the help of the DIYs that i came across on this forum. As I was putting the bike back together i came across a tubes that i cant find where it belongs to; the tube is connected inbetween the 2 carburetors. I also found a tubes that is connected to, what i think is, the "vacuum switch valve" and WAS connected to the stock airbox. I'm not sure what i'm suppose to do with this tube after i remove the stock airbox... Thanks a lot. |

check out the remove Kleen air system DIY. you will need either a block off plate or some vacuum caps for the stock plate + cap for the one T junction
as far as that one hose, if you did not disconnect anything you should not have it has to go to the gas tank somewhere as i think those are the only hoses you have to disconnect other than Kleen air system stuff which you did not remove |

or you can put a filter on the big hose and shoot fire out the tail pipe.
the hose from the carb is a drain tube that should go down thru a loop in the frame |

If i do go on to remove the kleen air assembly, would i have to re-jet? On the DIY thread they said no but then (I think) some people hinted that it might be necessary ... Because it causes it to run richer? Our something like that? I mean, i already bought that block off plate and will most likely go through with it but just want to know what to expect

No gasket needed but you can seal it up with a good rtv or other.

Also, you might want a 5/8th clamp-on breather for the lower part of that Kleen air delete. I believe it's in the DYI, but thought I'd mention it just in case. I purchased this for mine (was $2 free shipping when I got it haha): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm putting my air box back on because of the class I'm racing in and I don't have a hose on that fitting between the carbs. I'm not sure what happened to it but can I cap it off or should I find a replacement hose? You said it's a drain hose? I know about the drain hose that comes from the fuel tank.

yeah, you need a breather for the crank case, but not for keen air system delete. that hose is Carb overflow hose, should go down along gas tank drain hose

Just curious...how does the bike run without the airbox, new filter, and jet kit?
