K&N Air Filter Installation
It seems pretty straightforward, but any tips on how to get the original brackets out of the airbox? Directions say to break them, but there's really not a lot of room to get a lot of torque built up to snap them in half.
I'm thinking about using a Dremel and sticking a rag down in the airbox to cover up the carb intakes. Any suggestions? |

wat. No breaking required when I put my filter in... Just fit right where the OEM one was.

Is yours a Pre Gen though? They have different airboxes.....

The best bet is to remove the airbox, it's work, but worth it in the long run, don't want to leave any small pieces that might get sucked in, etc....

Alright, I installed the new filter. Was a little snug getting in the airbox and was a bear trying to remove it, but I guess that's aftermarket for ya ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I ended up bending the air filter ever so slightly while trying to fit it over the snorkels, since that was a bit of a bear as well. Will that be an issue? |

As long as the filter doesn't have a hole, or a bad bend I wouldn't worry about it, helps to use some lube on the filter/snorkel to allow it to slide on easier.
