How do you remove your engine
I have taken the head and block off. All i'm left with is a crankcase. How do you get the crankcase off the frame?
Am i going to need to drop in onto a stand or will I be able to be able to hold the case using my arms? How heavy is this thing? |

Just put a jack under the engine and remove the long bolts at the back. It's not that heavy. But you will need the jack to hold it when you want to it it back.

Before you remove the bolts, make sure that every hose and cable are disconnected.
Nothing like pulling that last bolt out and grab the engine to find it still attached to the frame.

I have a flywheel puller from motion pro. It fits but you need an impact gun and torch to pop the flywheel off. I have not gotten one off yet. I work around it.

NO
But You can flip the fully assembled engine upside down and remove the bottom half of the case. . That gives you full access to the crank and trans. Also oil and water pump stuff and shifter.

You need to remove the flywheel and the clutch basket in order to split the crankcase. This is better done with the engine still on the frame so it's secure while you use a breaker bar on it.
You also need to remove the crankcase from the frame to split it because there is an engine mounting bolt that goes through the top half of the crankcase, and there is one that goes through the bottom half. |

Just curious,
Why are you taking the engine out? Seems like you have a pretty new bike. |
