Yes, lots of dumb things are said here. The ninjette is seen by many as a bike for people without riding experience, and I'm guessing our average age (despite me, sailariel, greg and others dragging it upwards) is pretty low compared to other bikes. However, one of the things I used to see as a source of pride here was how noobs can come in an ask dumb questions, or say dumb things, and learn in a way that was different than other ninjette sites where traditionally they'd be ridiculed.

Rather than trash stupid comments, we should be focused on trying to respectfully educate the people who make them. Flame wars, bickering and insults is the only place this thread is going, and it won't help the overall feel of the forum.

I don't think this thread is supposed to be about stupid questions noobs ask. It seems to be about the stupid answers that occasionally slip out from experienced riders who should know better.

My only comment is that due to the virtually infinite variety of folks who post here and all their different viewpoints and attitudes that it's not possible to truly find a single post that is completely silly for every possible reader. What it is possible to do with a topic like this is to introduce and promote incivility and rancor, in fact it almost seems like that would be the goal with some folks, though most definitely not with Greg.

One of the basic aspects of participating in a society, even a relatively faceless and anonymous one like an internet forum, is understanding and accepting that there are many other viewpoints than one's own, and that every person has the right to believe what they believe even if that isn't what yourself might think is smart, or dumb, or silly, or whatever.

I think this thread goes against the spirit of Ninjette and Alex's wishes in the rules because it invites primarily mean-spirited comments that have no business on these forums. It's ALWAYS possible to criticize and correct while being nice, though people may still respond negatively. Alex has stated in no uncertain terms that he wants these to be unarguably THE most inviting Ninja 250 forums on the 'net. Let's keep it that way.

I Was saying the CBR 250 was more of a commuter compared to a sportier Ninja. But lets face it. The Majority of people buying a 250 are doing it because they have a budget or they are looking for a starter bike.
Sure there are exceptions. People who race them because they are fun to race. There are people that like the gas milage and the light weight... but thats the exception.
