It won't start.. left outside in 40+ degrees for just half a day. Need help..
So I left my bike in the morning and then when I tried to start it last night it wouldn't. I wait for about 5 mins and try to start it again...it does sometimes but after like 3 seconds it dies..even with the choke on..did something freeze up? like the fuel lines? it was 40+ degrees outside and its the first time this happened...
the bike usually is in the garage in the morning before I start it so Its the first time it stayed outside for this long with the current weather...now I'm stuck and sleeping over at my friend's house..good thing she's hot..lol j/k ...please help! |

give your idle knob a half-turn in... Once the bike is warmed up, re-set your idle....

It worked with no throttle and just the choke at full..wow that was easy... thanks a lot guys! now question is how come you don't need to use the throttle? sometimes people use it to start the bike..

I generally pull the choke to full and then as I start cranking I slowly move the choke back toward open until the engine starts, usually within a second or so. The choke provides bypass air so the throttle doesn't need to be open, and in fact opening the throttle just dilutes the extra fuel the choke is putting into the intake air stream. It takes practice, they're fairly cantankerous since they don't have EFI.
