Replaced the opening throttle cable on my 2012 Ninja 250 SE. The plastic fitting at the handlebar end was broken. I think it was like that when I took delivery last year.

Anyhow, it cost me $28 and 1 hour of my time.

Turned her over to the shop for a way overdue valve adjustment, and some basic checks on various service stuff.

Picked up set of F/R wheels with rotors/cush/etc for MKlein3004's race bike for $200. Figured that was a pretty good deal.

Took my street ninjette out for ride this weekend to test the S20 Evos and came away with a very positive first impression.

'Flame' got a new set of tires. (Yes, those are jack-stands and a Toyota jack.) She's almost street ready.

Ride on,

I picked up a Kisan Pathblazer headlight modulator for about half price.

http://kisantech.com/mag/index.php/p...zer/p115w.html

Ride report: it definitely draws attention to the bike, a lot of attention which is the main purpose of the modulator. Even a few cagers whom were pulling out, stopped instead, which I found very interesting.

I have it hooked to an inexpensive CREE LED H4, so the response time of the light is excellent. The unit it turned on when you switch to the hi beam, during daytime. The unit comes with a daylight sensor, if needed switch to low beam to deactivate the unit.

Final verdict: it works.

Welp, first major service needed I suppose.

New rear tire
New Shift Shaft and Tie Rod
New Speed Sensor
Valve Adjustment (opps, skipped the last two scheduled adjustments)

Also adjusted the brake lever and now the front brakes engage with the slightest pull vs a full on grip.

EBC clutch springs
Motion Pro clutch cable
Motion Pro clutch lever
Motion Pro brake lever
Checked valve clearances (all within spec, yay)
Oil filter+change
Bled brakes
Adjusted chain slack

Also figured out why it seemed like the sidestand sensor was bypassed... clutch sensor is broken (always open).
Aaaand discovered it's time for new fork seals.

Cars look alright when they're lowered a little (but still keep normal camber!!!) and I can appreciate that because there is some benefit to handing to a point, depending on the vehicle.

But unless the rider is tiny, bikes look super stupid when they ride by if they're lowered like that.

dang I know you can stack on the miles but weird hearing that the shift shaft itself has to be replaced.

The big knuckle thing where the tie rod connects was just a bit loose for a looong time and the splines wore down. My fault, not the bike's fault.

However my speedo is acting up again. Might just switch to Koso's magnetic pick up and bypass the stock mechanical one.

Hey dude you made it over! Not bad!

Saw your post on SVRider.com about picking-up the Ninja. Lots of fun to mess around with. We have 2 now, just picked up a project from a member here.

Keep us posted on what you are up to with it.

Thanks, seems like this is the place to be for the wee Ninja

My role with the bike is mostly in-house mechanic (we picked it up a couple months ago), but it's a ton of fun whenever I get some time with it. Brings back memories of growing up and riding small japanese standard bikes.

Last night I gave it a quick bath so it was pretty for today's riding.

I bought the Ninja 300 last year, after having 2-5 bikes at a time for years and years I decided to sell my last other two other bikes... Yamaha FZ09 and Victory Cross Country, and ride the Ninja 300 as my one and only. I am truly impressed how improved this 300 is, for my needs/wants this checks all the boxes.

I should do a thread at some point with my mods/bolt on's, thoughts and opinions.

Had a friend replace my rear 45 with the Michelin Pilot Power. The radial is so soft and pliable.

Not sure but my voltmeter drops to orange with my jacket and high beam on.

Today: installed the Koso speed sensor to bypass whatever is going on with my speedo. Also tried aligning my headlight and test rode the Corbin.

Tested out my DIY luggage rack. Best of all, it's free!!! Did three test runs with it. Verdict: Darwin was waiting for me.

Trying to see how long I can go without washing the bike. Last time I washed it was around Thanksgiving when I was prepping it for storage.

So, 6 months so far. I'll see if I can make it 1 full year
