seat cowl, does it matter which one?

Sold a few things on ebay and decided that i would maybe spend some of the cash on some farkles since i have yet to do anything of that nature to my bike.

Was thinking about a passenger seat cowl.

Is there any benefit to the more expensive ones or they all pretty much gonna serve the purpose?

honestly the only real difference from what ive seen/heard/read is fitment, sadly the more expensive does not equal better fitment. I had a hell of a time getting my rear seat cowl to sit properly. had to unscrew everything, bend it around and whatnot. Now it fits nice and snug, however theres still about a pinky sized gap on 1 side and if i try to adjust it, it'll just move to the opposite side.

I dont think anyone has noticed other than me though. Talked to a guy earlier today who owned a cbr600 and he got within a couple feet of my bike and thought the cowl was stock, even with screwed up fitment lol

Depending on your year the colors may not match.

On a side note, does anybody make a lower profile seat cowel?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm thinking about this one but worried about the quality and if it will be the same exact red.

Fitment and color issues are two things to keep in mind. Production standards are virtually non existent where those cheap ones are made. I got a set of Chinese fairings, rear cowl included. The fitment is fine, but the color is slightly off. It's a shade closer to olive green than Kawi lime green. Sometimes it isn't noticeable, but you can clearly tell in certain lighting.

I ended up just buying the $30ish ebay seat cowl instead of the oem. From what I've seen and read online, I'm not seeing much difference in fitment between the two. As far as color goes the black is slightly off but with what was saved in cost I can live with that.

The cheap ones usually have a really crappy finish. If you know the oem fits well and looks great, and you don't want to fiddle with it, buy oem.
