[visordown.com] - Massimo Tamburini dies aged 70
MOTORCYCLE designer Massimo Tamburini has died aged 70, it has been reported. Diagnosed with lung cancer last November, Tamburini had been undergoing intensive chemotherapy when he passed away yesterday. The Italian designer is famous for some of motorcycling’s most iconic designs such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4 superbike, which were included in the Guggenheim Museum’s “The Art of the Motorcycle exhibit” in New York City. He is also one of the founding members of both Bimota and the Cagiva Research Centre in the Republic of San Marino. Speaking of his career, Tamburini said: “I have always had a huge passion for motorcycles – my mother used to complain about it when I was a little boy, calling it my obsession! I have never had any desire to design anything else.” Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
