I hit 125 on the speedo

During an illegal ride this afternoon (Illegal cause the bike is track ready, not street legal) I put the speedo needle on the 125 MPH mark. The tach read 13,500 RPM. (41 rear gear on) Thats the highest I have ever seen on the speedo.

Did I mention the the 35-40 MPH tail wind? lol It was a pain to ride with the cross wind but lots of fun with the wind at your back.
Its nearly 80 here today and I just couldnt help it.

I agree about the wind - was riding as a cold front was blowing in, on the highway, gusts were easily 40+, and it was the craziest time on my bike yet. I was laughing so loud after I exited - I bet the cars behind me were tripping out on my swerving.

125 on the speedo - kick ass - I wonder about actual speed?

It doesn't count unless you do two passes and get them on video.

That's a TINY rear sprocket! I've seen 112 indicated with a tail wind, deep into redline (actually bouncing off the rev limiter - stock gearing). Another 13 MPH is incredible!

I like to chop a few teeth off the rear gear Richard.
Even at the track. As you know, Ive had the best results on the dragstrip that way. Of course being an barely overgrown jockey that could darn near fight fly weight doesnt hurt to spin that "tiny" sprocket either.
Im swapping back to the 43T for Autobahn (racetrack) in Joliet. My first trackday of the year is the weekend of 24th of this month. Get me a little more pull up out of the corner with a little bigger sprocket.
Then its back to the FZ for the month of May trackdays.

Low 130's before the "all you can eat buffet". high 130's after.
140's when I get off my ass and goto the gym for a couple months straight. Most of the time I hang about 135 give or take a pound of two.
