How expensive is your Ninja?

So overall, how much money have you put into your ninjette? Go ahead and give a good estimate.

Please include, Purchase price, Gear, Mods, Repairs, Farkles, Gas, Maintenance, Taxes, Registration, etc... (go ahead and round to your best guess to nearest hundred).

How much does your habbit really cost?

No good can come from this. Ran a similar report on Quicken a few years back totaling up motorcycling expenses. Vowed to never do that again.

For the payback the bike has given me I would have to say the expense is priceless and worth every penny I put into it.

$ 1,500 2006 bike w/ 2,042 miles and 2+ years rotting in the sun unridden
~300 title transfer taxes, registration, and fees
~150 New Kenda tires, stems, tire irons, tire lube, Band-aids, icepack.
~70 Mike's EuroShield
~1,100 Gear, including boots, jacket, pants, gloves, full saddlebag/tailbag/tankbag combo, spare visors, etc.
~100 Brake/tail/license/instrument LEDs, fuel filter, gasket material to make clutch cover gasket ($5), brake light side pod mod, JT 15T front sprocket, misc. screws from Ron Ayers, etc.

Looks like I'm in for a little over $3,200 not counting oil changes and refueling. I don't count that since that has to get done whether I drive or ride, however, I did figure that I saved almost $700 on fuel last year for the 10k miles I did on the bike instead of in the car. I also saved 9 quarts of oil since the bike uses 2 quarts vs the car's 5 quarts per oil change, so that's another $30 saved (synthetic).

This.

But if I had to add it all up:

-$4400 OTD for the bike.
-$574 for an extended warranty (the wife really wanted me to get it so whatever)
-$1003 for gear (Shoei RF 1000, A* jacket, gloves, pants, boots).
-$216 for frame sliders.

So $6193 so far....

4700 up front new
800 for insurance (1 year)
~25 for the 15 tooth sprocket.
~300 for 25 fill-ups of gas
~120 for Sport demon rear tire
~80 for oil changes
~700 misc. parts and gear

So it looks like around $6,625

and...

Saved $1200 on fuel, and of course my sanity for being able to enjoy the twisties every day after work.

I lost count after $6K. I'm addicted to gear. I do not dare to add up the receipts.

I don't even want to think about it. But not including two years worth of work, maybe five thousand dollars plus the price of the bike.I am just getting started.

Is this like calculating your motorcycle net worth?

Hey don't feel bad guys, you didn't have to pay for your ninja twice.

Over $10,000 on my 250R and accessories and crash parts and mods and gear etc.

Getting up there with the GSXR already too.
