From Ottawa Ontario

Just picked up a new 2010 ninja in blue two weeks ago. I'm loving it so far except for this boring "break-in" period.
I'm already at 500km so half way there!

Just bought a two brothers m2.
Also got some 8000k hids but the bulb needs spacers behind it, do any kits come with the same bulb frame as the stocks so I wouldn't have to use spacers?

Another quick question, rpms, 1.5k idle is normal?
Is it also normal to have to use my choke when its 18 degrees out?

Welcome

Nice pipe!
I can't comment on the bulbs but... 1.5k idle is in general what is like, I keep mine there. Regarding the choke, the bike is a bit cold blooded so I usually have to choke mine and let it warm up a bit. For more detailed discussions on these topics check out the Search feature on the forum, there are a lot of posts already on these topics and many smart, helpful folks on here to help out if you need it.

Welcome! I live in Ottawa as well and there's another forum member here as well.

Nice to meet you man! From Ottawa too, have the same bike 2010 in black, just over break in period. Got my bike this winter.

Make sure you get that engine maintenance done at 1000km... after that, break in not as critical according to dealer.

Anyways, i had the same issues starting bike. Had to use choke for a good 5 mins (keeping rpms below 2,500) before engine would idle on its own. probably because it was started only once this winter. looked in the book and recommended idle is 1,350 so you're perfect.

If you want to go for a ride, anytime. I'm still a beginner though.
