Congrats, you get the "didn't find a Jiggles Brand Toyota" award =D -- nice dodge, but could've been an accident really easily if a car had some reason to have gone into that shoulder.

Let me go into mom mode: Don't do it again.

I am not happy I got caught by this, been a long time. By watching the videos and getting feedback, there was a moment in time I should have picked up on the slowing traffic.

No plans on doing it again

Oh yeah, that was my first thought going around the car, "K, what am I going to hit" not much braking power in the shoulder this time of year here.

you would have been much safer splitting the red car and the cement truck. the shoulder is always dirty and slippy. trying to cut out then straighten up on the shoulder is usually extremely risky. the 1.5 lane is usually clean and since the cement truck was there, you were pretty gaurded against someone in the #1 cutting into #2 (they aren't going to ram a cement truck)

i'll also say, you would have been much safer if instead of cutting over at all you just stayed in 1.5 the entire time. splitting safely is much safer than swerving erratically. regardless of legality. think of your safety not your wallet.

good job on not crashing though. i like your camera setup. also the Austin Martin looks sexy as hell

Is splitting legal in Canada? Or was this filmed in California? Just curious, would definitely impact my evaluation of that advice (but if I were in full on wreck avoidance mode I'd split no matter the law)

Only had one hand one the bar at time I don't think I could've got a good arc to go between else I would've. End of the vid shows all different camera angles. Good shot of the rider. But yeah I hate hitting a shoulder if I don't have to, but I must admit after missing the car I wasn't in a hurry to get out of it.

Not legal, can get away with in a lot of traffic, they just can't follow. But I was thinking of finding out what the lane splitting charges would be, if they go reckless it can be a costly one. Me and someone were talking and if I was splitting this wouldn't of happened.
