Ninja 250 at the Dragstrip

I know these aren't the best bike for the Dragstrip but let me explain before I get blasted, lol. My son is 15 and just got his motorcycle license. He's been riding since he was 4 and has been riding a streetbike for a couple of years, just in my parking lot and around the shop to get used to it. I have a performance bike/dyno shop, my main business is dynotuning so we will be modding his bike for the track. Me and my brother have been racing for 20+ years and my son just started 3 weeks ago on his 250. He's by far the fastest bike there but he is loving it. He's getting better every time. The first day he was running high 16's to low 17's, then last week he was running low 16's. Yesterday when we went to the track his goal was to run a 15.99, we're really working on his launch and this time he went 15.85 and before we left he ran a 15.33. Now his goal is a 14.99

Does anyone else run their 250 at the Dragstrip? I'm curious what they will run.

That's great, in the past I've had fast cars at the strip but the best times I had were driving a slower car in bracket and grudge racing. I'm curios what the ninja will run also.

Drag racing is fun on a bike. Much harder than a car

Racer X has and also does land speed racing. With a little practice and some tweaking (.. OK, a lot) your son can get the 250 to do the 1/4 in the low 14sec range and 121+ mph in the mile.

Check his videos

We don't have any place to do LSR, I would love to run some top speed at a real sanctioned LSR track, my personal ride is a 550hp turbo Busa. On his 250 we are going to go with a k&n filter and get it on the dyno so I can jet the carbs. There are 4 or 5 kids on 250's here and so far they average in the 16's and around 78mph

If your really interested at LSR, look at the ECTA website.

Jetting, exhaust and air filter can bump the HP up some. However a few little extras like Iridium plugs, CDI and E-0 87 octane gas can have nice effect even on a stock engine. Your son should be able to smash the other 250's easily afterwards.
