Thought I'd check in

Well the 929 and I were doing fine, went up to Nederlands on hw 119 last Saturday, but unfortunately a car merged into my lane during a left hand turn and forced me off the road. I was ejected from the bike, flew about 10 feet and skidded for 26 feet where I landed into a dirt embankment.

I suffered a broken collar bone and some bruises, if I wasn't wearing all the gear it would have been much worse.

Bikes not too bad, she'll get all new fairings, its all cosmetic and will run about $1000 to fix up and I'm repainting the tank to create a new look for her. It'll be about a month till my shoulder heals.

Sorry to hear that Mike. I hope you get better soon. Sounds like you have a positive attitude and will be back to riding which is great!

And the driver of the car? Who's fault was it?

I'm glad you're ok enough to make a post. That's always a good sign! And it looks like your helmet did it's job correctly. Take it easy and get well soon.

Sheesh. Glad you're ok. That's a gnarly little scuff on your helmet there. I can just see the part where your brains would be pouring out.

Most definitely his, but because his car didn't make contact he's trying to claim no fault so now I have to take it to court.

Btw this was at 45mph, even at street speeds you can be hurt so never ride with out your gear!
