A different style of seat cowl?

So i am considering getting this seat cowl off of ebay. It looks like it is a different style than the Kawasaki OEM one and i was wondering if anyone has this/heard anything about it. I can't decide if i like it better than the OEM one or not, i do like the price though.

Seat Cowl

+1 on the OEM ive seen both in person and the only thing i can say i like better is that the pad on the ebay model is the same type of fabric as the seat so it ties it together a bit better than the rubber IMO

The one in the pic at the top fits overtop the stock rear seat, which means so far, it's the most secure cowl because none of the other ones lock down in the rear.

One good strong pull and you can say goodbye to everything in your trunk with all the other cowls.

Secure beats ugly.....sometimes.

Mine just has the metal "spike" that fits into a rubber grommet whereas the stock seat slides over a metal tab and is a little more secure.

That being said, I have never had a problem with my Kawi cowl.

Nope.

The big difference is in the rear "slide under" tab in the seat versus a pin into a grommet for the cowl, and most people lose that grommet before they get the cowl.

Kurgan hit the nail on the head. That cowl you posted a pic of, just goes over the factory rear seat, which means those bolts on the side have to screw into the factory seat fabric, I would presume. I was interested in it for a while too. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any definitive answers to how it really is installed on the factory rear seat. Does it just screw into the fabric? Are there other means that it's held on to the seat? I don't know, never could get any answers from the seller.
