Heat felt on the backside of my legs under the seat. Normal?
Hey, I'm currently in the low 300's as far as miles go but I'm noticing that my legs, particularly around my knees, tend to get quite heated. Presumably from the engine. I mean it's not catching fire or anything but it is definitely toasty around there. This normal?

Yeah it's pretty normal mines can get decently hot on hot days, its dis-comfortable but its not horrible. Only really a problem when I'm stopped at a light or something and the fans start blowing that hot air on my legs. Its actually really normal for the majority of bikes cause you are right next to the engine.

Normal. therefore it is not a true "problem" ..more like an annoyance?

Okay. Just checking. I was worried I was sitting on an oven or something. Anykind of shielding being tested? I hear somebody was testing out foil tape under the side black panels for insulation.

There are heat shields/insulation in place on the bike already. you can try putting some more around the engine area but it could interfere with things in the bike and you don't want any of the insulation touching the engine or components. The engine bay (I'll refer to it as that) has to be able to vent that heat out so modding like this has to be so as to not bother air flow.

True... I was mostly talking about insulating the black plastic only. Not sure if it would do anything at all though. I'm sure i'll just get used to it.
