Alright so this is wee out of my budget but I'll stick with it if it keeps the GB from falling apart. I'll just get the exhaust only to save a bit of money on dynojet kit and install the exhaust next year after I buy the dynojet kit.

I agree, this is the thing I hate about Group Buys, I had a feeling this would happen from the beginning(post #41) "Kudos to Kerry", but I bet this is the last GB he'll do. If you really can't afford it, DON'T JOIN

It's my fault, some emails and orders changed. I dropped the ball and haven't been the best in keeping kbryant up to date with the changes.

Yours shipped already? Where is mine. Hope it makes it for this weekend so I can try it out a bit (then again haven't really messed with jetting before, hope that doesn't take forever). People always fall out in group buys since they stretch over a decent amount of time. But since I committed to it I was responsible to at least make sure I could follow through. Kerry is a good guy tossed some emails back and forth with him last week.

Yup, Kerry's awesome; professional and courteous.

Has anyone done research on air box/intake mods they plan on doing?

Yeah, I bought the 0990 and a small breather. I plan on taking the whole stock part out as per the DIY. The jet kit I ordered should work well since that's exactly what their dyno bike had.

I was thinking about pulling the airbox, but I ride through a lot of elevation changes and it seemed like if you remove the airbox your jetting has to be pretty accurate to take advantage of the higher rpm gains while also not killing off the low rpm power. So for now probably just de-snorkeled as it has been for awhile now.

I plan on sticking with the stock airbox/desnorkel with K&N filter. I don't want to try and tackle the jet kit by myself. I'll either get Almost40 to help me (after duck & goose season) or might take it to a local motorsports shop here in town and have them install and Dyno it. I'm still waiting on the tracking # also but it's winter here so no big hurry. I haven't even started on the GB hugger I got last week.

got the confirmation and tracking #. Bikes already winterized, and half apart now waiting for the new exhaust. I was planing on putting the pod filter in, but taking out the air box is a PITA, so far I've only managed to throw curses at it. So I'm just gonna desnorkel it and wait for my early christmas present. Hopefully the snow will hold off here so i can take it for a test ride.

and thanks again to kerry for staying with this GB.

Funny. Obviously needs some packing material to stop whatever's inside from rolling around in the box.

During college I worked for UPS at their Sort-Facility in Homewood, Alabama. At least once a week we would get a package that had magnets (sometimes strong ones, sometimes weak ones) inside of it.

You can hardly imagine the havoc these things would cause. Sometimes one would cause the shutdown of an entire section of the building.

I was the low guy on the totem-pole, a position called "slide clerk", so I was the one who had to climb up into the conveyors and slides to clear the magnetic box.

Hunting season ends on Feb 1st. but i moved from from part time to full time at the red cross so my time off is now sketchy. Im sure we can find the time to get it done in my heated garage before spring.
Im betting your feeling better and thats good to hear.

Looks like you're the only one that went for the 12". I haven't decided which size to get yet. Leaning towards the 12.

here is a comparison between stock VS area P

here it is mounted

how tight should the flanges be?
should they be flush with the head?
or should they be tight enough just so they dont leak?

try the stock jets. then try the next size larger jet. then you go to the needles. then the floats and pilot jets. Jetting is trial and error. The stock main jets are large enough that they should be fine for use with the airbox and full exhaust, but that may be different for your bike. only way to find out is to test it out. a few miles on the wrong jet for testing purposes isn't going to hurt a thing
