Brake fluid
I'm looking to change the brake fluid in both reservoirs. In the service manual it says to use only dot 3 fluid, but on the cap on the front brake reservoir it say use only dot 4. Seems weird to me, I have both but don't know what to use. My other question is what gas do you guys use in your 250s, i've been putting in 93, wondering if it pointless or not. Im a noob, both to riding and working on bikes, im a mechanic though so I know its better to ask if your not sure. Thanks in advance.

So disregard the service manual on this one, cool. I have some dot 4 I bought from the dealer, says its good for ski-doos and such (that also threw me off) lol. Thanks for the quick reply, dot 4 is what ill be using. Just ordered a new chain also (bike stood for 2 years and some links are frozen), put a new rear tire on yesterday. Excited to ride this thing.

I thought they were, but always double check. Btw what's the "islandmax" from in your avatar? Just wondering, I made my nick a while ago on Nissan maxima forums, used to have a nicely moded (not riced out) 98 maxima, 3.5 6spd swap. Been wanting a bike for about 6 years now but could never make it happen. I'm loving my 2000 250, great bike imo.

I just used Valvoline synthetic DOT 3 & 4 brake fluid in mine. Replaced the lines with red SS braided so i picked up a bottle of that stuff.
