Passing time after surgery?
Today I had my second of two surgeries on my knees and I was just wondering what any of you do to pass the time while you are down and can't ride (or walk, for that matter). I'm a really active guy and I was fine after my first surgery 6 weeks ago, albeit really bored. If I remember correctly, there was another thread on this a while back but I can't seem to find it so would anyone mind contributing some new ideas?
--Here's to hoping none of you have to have major knee surgeries in your life. They suck. Full recovery time is a year, but I should be back riding in 8 weeks |

Work on my bike.
Get a new hobby such as working on my bike Take apart and put back together my bike Buy things for my bike. That's the jist of it! Hahaha, being down and out is a good time to do things you wouldn't normally do if you were out going to the gym, running, or riding. Read some books, find a new hobby (build some model bikes?), become an epic chef, play some video games to get rid of the stress of not being able to be out there doing the things you love. I feel for you man, I know someone who has had to replace their hip twice! Good luck with the recovery, and here's to getting back to riding! |

Reading is my go-to when I'm injured. I'll also surf the net, play some video games and watch movies, but that gets old really fast. Reading keeps me rather occupied.

Hope your knees don't hurt too much. My wife had ACL surgery about 4 years ago and she was in so much pain for the next 3 days it brought tears to my eyes. Wishing you for a fast recovery. And my wife did read a ton of books while she healed.

Thanks for the concern. They don't hurt at all, really and I can get up and walk with only a slight limp. However, that's about as far as I go with exercising currently All my life has consisted of lately is playing Call of Duty and reading books lol. Two things I never thought I'd be doing so much

Hope for a quick recovery bro,
I am a musican, so playing guitar is fun, listening to music passes time. Ordering stuff online, playing video games, eating, watching netflix, those are some time wasters. Video games and an xbox are the best though. |

Sounds like the story of my life I've been playing guitar for a long time and XBox and PS3 are all that I've been doing mostly haha. Oh, and eating is definitely something I've taken advantage of in my down time too
