[visordown.com] - Guy Martin not allowed to race the Classic TT

Guy Martin has been refused permission to race at the inaugural Classic TT as he attempted to sign-on today after the deadline which was Wednesday.

The Lincolnshire man was due to ride the 500cc Norton in Monday’s Classic TT race for the highly acclaimed Molnar Manx racing team who are only just coming back after a 10 year absence.

Martin needed to have signed-on yesterday and taken part in Wednesday evening’s practice session as well as completing 5 full laps of the Isle of Man TT course on-board the 500cc Norton to qualify before Monday’s race.

In an interview at the Ulster Grand Prix, Martin explained that he would not be able to make it over to the Isle of Man until the Thursday of practice week due to work commitments.

Seven-times TT winner, Michael Dunlop is still the fastest during this weeks practice after he completed a blinding 122.837mph lap in Wednesday evenings practice session on-board the Team Classic Suzuki XR69.
