[cycleworld.com] - How Much Power Does the 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster Make?

How much power does the 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster produce? We place the Revolution Max 975 V-twin on the Cycle World dyno.

Click here to view on their site.

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster is The Motor Company’s first application to utilize the all-new Revolution Max 975T liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin. The engine was originally teased in the Bronx streetfighter concept, which was later scrapped. However, this “midsize” Revolution Max-powered Sportster is likely the first of several models to utilize the “midsize” Revolution Max powerplant

Cycle World Technical Editor Kevin Cameron dove into the Revolution Max 975T and Revolution Max 1250T engine platforms here, while our first ride review of the Nightster covers more technical details.

Horsepower and torque figures of the 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster gathered on the Cycle World dyno. (Robert Martin Jr./)Following our first ride review of the 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster, we placed it on the Cycle World Dynojet 250i dynamometer, recording horsepower and torque measurements. The Revolution Max 975 produced 78.51 hp at 7,550 rpm and 62.44 pound-feet of torque at 5,190 at the rear wheel. As noted in our review, the torque delivery isn’t immediate as seen in H-D’s air-cooled V-twin, with a significant dip between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm and only crossing the 60 pound-feet threshold just before 5,000 rpm. It’s quick revving too, hitting its 8,500 rpm redline shortly after peak power.

As mentioned, the Nightster is the first H-D model to be equipped with the Revolution Max 975T. Seeing what The Motor Company has done with the Revolution Max 1250T in the very different Pan America 1250 and Sportster S models, it will be interesting to see how the tune of the 975T is applied to future models.
