I periodically go out to the garage and look at it. I get a grin when I think about the fun I'll be having in a few months. In the meantime, yesterday while I was shoveling, I got bored:

○Although 10W-40 engine oil is the recommended oil for most* conditions, the oil viscosity may need to be changed to accommodate atmospheric conditions in your riding area. *emphasis mine In the attached image it shows 10w40 recommended for 14*F-104*F It ALSO shows 20w50 recommended for 32*F to beyond 104*F It does not state ANYWHERE that 20w50 CAN ONLY BE USED ABOVE 105*F Oil covers an operating RANGE not a definite. I want an oil that covers the range I ride in all year round, especially when I can go from 115*F at 10am to 75*F by noon simply by taking a ride up to Flagstaff. I do not like having to stock "Winter Oil" and "Summer Oil". 20w50 covers ALL of my riding conditions on BOTH of my bikes. If I were racing all the time, or had a dedicated race bike, I would have a different approach and would most likely run a Straight weight oil rather then a dual rate for just such parasitic losses. Now, to get on topic ![]() Installed a Hotbodies Dark Smoke Double Bubble style fairing. Now my son can damn near sit upright and have the wind still be directed over his head. But it at least makes it easier for me to tuck down. Going to switch back to a 14T front sprocket as the bike is having a hard time with the steep grades with my fat butt in the saddle with the 15/42 gearing. Also working on making a bracket to install a pair of 29mm round slide non-CV carbs just because they are sitting on the bench and I have a good range of jets for them ![]()

Pirelli Strada 120/70ZR17 front tire mounted...
Rear rim purchased from Fleabay to be sent to Kosman to widen to 4"-4.25" with a possible .25" offset to the brake side for chain clearance... New EBC brake pads with no issues in fit or bedding... Gifted a Techmount to modified to mount off the Mirror bolt for holding the GPS.

I just realized you're from Dallas/Fort Worth... I go to Richland Collegiate High School and I live in Addison during the week, I go back home to East Texas on most weekends. I keep my bikes in East Texas. I need to get a ride together sometime.
Ever been to Jefferson?

I don't live in Jefferson, it just a cool place. I actually live closer to Mt. Pleasant/Pittsburg. There's all kinds of fun roads around there.
It's alright, I was just wondering if you've been there and I understand what you mean by riding over your head. It's a lot easier to ride with people who are faster than you if they stop at intersections.

The farther from the headlight the more effective/visible/safer your turn signals are for the rider, you are conveying your intentions to oncoming drivers. Unless you have made your turn signals considerably brighter than stock...flush mounts are for people more concerned with how they look then their actual saftey

Added a 12volt adapter, and went for a small ride today...The ram mount makes it easy to see, and hear the gps...Absolutely no vibration, and very easy to adjust...The ram mount is so good, that I,m thinking of getting another one for my camera...

Over the weekend I started my bike up for the first time since early December, repositioned the connector for my battery tender so it is more accessible, and I installed my no cut brake modulator. All in all, it was a good weekend.
![]() The only thing that would've made it better would be if I would've gone for a little ride somewhere.

Not on any I've seen. One of my friends with an '03 has green bike and had a black gas cap and he polished his cap, too.
If they made it raw aluminum, it would look bad because they cast the caps, and cast aluminum looks bad and is rough unless polished or machined, trust me on that. To make them look good, the boys at Kawasaki would have to either: A) Machine the tops (expensive). B) polish the caps(also a waste of time for employess). or C) sand or sand blast them (Also costs money). And you have to be more careful with these polished/sanded/machined parts or you will ruin the finish on them. Paint is harder to make look bad, easier to keep parts uniform looking.
