those two stickers are baller, the one on the left and right that is.

I wonder if the previous owner of my truck would be pissed if he started seeing stickers on the back of the truck...if he would be I have other places for them to go, have a few stickers incoming from amazon, not all of them bike related tho

I just got off the phone with my friend Kevin (summa ya'lls meet him). He has crashed alot this year but didn't want to end the year with a crashed out track day. I offered to take him to his favorite track and be his pit bitch and coach for 2 days. So... Oct. 4/5, I will be at Putnam Park for some track days. Ya'lls be welcome to stop by and hang out if ya's want. I be grillin' up some Italian pork and vittles to go along.

Then after that, on the 7th... back to Mid-Ohio for some A group fun, maybe a bit of I group fun too. As always, I will be taking pics/vid and shakin' hands along the way.

Side note: I got some crappy cell phone vid of my son doing a 540 kick board break I will posting, another proud moment as a father. And... after a 4 min. sparring session with him, I was completely out of breath. I GOTTA stop smoking for sure if there is any hope of me to continue to try to keep up with these damn kids.

Jade decided it would be helpful to start taking off the busted street fairings on the track r6 and I am completely out of room in my garage.

No you can see the black r6 in the far right near the door. The green kawi is under a tarp beside my garage. The two missing bikes are my ugly, offbrand 200cc dirt bike, and my pw80. They are to the right side of the riding mower.

Track bike update! The results of Jades work. What it started like, what it looks like now. Still so much to do. I should start a thread for Hans to drool over.

A bigger garage is in the plans for next year and Jade loves to be part of the whole track experience. She is gunna make a great crew chief one day.

More pics!

The electric bikes where cool and the riders said they did well on the track. The Dr. Suess had to be the coolest bike I have seen in a while.

Of course a cool paint job on a car catches my eye. And it seems the little ryobi gennys are becoming more common in the paddock.

New hands shaken and a new track day org that I was present to see how it's run. This weekend was hosted by http://www.midwesttrackday.com/ I will do a full review after some rest. I think I spied some of the MCRA crew there though...

So you all have read about and seen some of the picks of my track sidekick Kevin. He is almost always with me at the track as a copilot and we safety net each other “just in case”. He also has supported me in the paddock for many of my race rounds, where he don’t even ride for the day. He just hangs in the pit and helps me, cooks lunches and dinner and is the general “pit bitch”. Of course Jade normally keeps him company but still…

He has crashed a lot this year and was contemplating hanging up riding. After our families had dinner and a few long chats along the way, he decided to give it one more go. I paid for his track time and he got some clean riding days in with some coaching. Well, this past weekend… I returned the favor for him again. He wanted to go to the track again for the last time this season and couldn’t find anyone to go with him. Not sure why he didn’t call me first but, once I heard he wanted to go, I called him up and offered to be his pit crew and transport.

Friday:
Load my trailer with normal track stuff, but NO bike (it felt kinda weird)
Pick up Kevin at his house and help load his stuff and bike on the trailer
Kevin makes me some awesome chicken tortellini soup for the road trip
We drive 3.5 hours to the track and get a hotel room for the night

Saturday: (38 degrees... eff’n cold and windy!!!!)
Get up kinda late and make the short trip to the track (stop for gas and coffee)
Arrive at the track just as the riders meeting is finishing
I tell Kevin to take care of his business (registration and such) and I will unload everything
When Kevin gets back I have the pit completely ready, his bike on stands and warmers plugged in
Kevin gears up after skipping the first session and rides until lunch
While Kevin was riding I fire up the grill and make some Italian Sausages and we grub out. I made a few for others in the paddock too! Sharing is good.
Kevin finishes the day after choosing to skip the last session and we head back to hotel

All day he ask me and other coaches questions and did what you should do. I tried to get him to just relax and have fun. I think he got the fun part but relaxing was kinda hard in the cooler temps. Many riders where cold. I could see it in their riding, the shoulders and hands. Dinner was Red Lobster (endless ship)! Kevin insisted on paying for it since I was buying gas for the truck and his bike.

Sunday: (still eff’n cold but less windy)
Get up late again, lol… miss riders meeting again… hahahahahahha
Once again, I set up the pit and bike for Kevin while he gears up and does his rider thing
Rinse and repeat the stuff from Sat.
I had the truck and trailer packed and stacked ready for the trip home before Kevin’s last riding session was over. All that was left to load was the bike and his gear

Since the track conditions where a bit better and riders where less cold, Kevin got a few tows and 1 on 1 sessions from on track coaches. Which seemed to help him out pretty good. He was happy, which made me happy.

In my spare time, I walked around the entire paddock and garages meeting new people and shaking hands. I helped a few riders fix things on their bikes, I helped riders put their bikes on stands as they came back to their pits, ect.. ect... A great and easy way to meet new people is to simply offer a helping hand.

Was a great weekend at the track, despite the cold and not riding.

I just reviewed every post in this thread. It didn't feel right that Kevin's pic was not in here. He deserves as much of the credit of the goals in this thread just as much as I do because I couldn't have done a lot of the things I have done without his help.

how fast is a fast cart?

my local track used to advertise the top speed of the carts at 60mph but they dropped that advertisement down to 50mph when they realized that the fast guys were only able to hit 52-54mph at the end of their longest straight.

Fast is relative to the rider good sir. Compared to the slow carts (10mph) the fast ones (35mph) were a hoot to her.

I understand speed relativity, was just wondering how quick the karts are there as I've seen a racing go-kart go >80mph mid corner (one wheel in the air) in my neighborhood before and karts generally have very large differences in speed track to track

@#%$@Q#$%^@$%!Q@#$!@#$%@#$%^!@#$@#$^%!#$

They tarred and chipped my entire road on Friday. A solid mile of gravel that isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I am going to shake the hand of the county road department supervisor on Monday.
