Gas Gauge

Hey guys, i just wanted to ask ya'll, are the gas guage on these bikes accurate? It seems like i'll put in gas, and itll drop super quickly until it gets pretty low. For example, the other day i put 3 gals of gas in it, and it put the needle a couple marks above the half filled mark. Now, after 80-90 miles, its almost on empty? Maybe i'm getting really bad mileage? I dont think so however, cuz i can open it up and clearly see gas in it. I just think there not that accrate. Just wanna hear ya'lls opinion!

Our bikes do tend to have a fuel reading issue. It however is not the gauge, it is usually the sending unit under the tank.

The fuel gauge and float is very rudimentary. Kind of the nature of the beast. Par for the game on a sub 5k bike. If it does not work at all or is more than 1/2 a tank off, then I would be concerned. I found the lower the fuel level in the tank the more inaccurate it can be. As far as gas mileage goes, how do you ride the bike? Also keep in mind that gas mileage dwindles in the winter time.
