Actually, the image I was using, she was making a small "duckface".

I have no idea why people do that...they look so stupid. At least she was just doing it a little bit, not over the top like some do.

Uh oh. This sketchpad is almost done. I only have 3 sheets left before I am out of paper. Good thing it is right at the end of the workday. Even better that I have another 5 sketchpads waiting to be used at home (fortunately, I have another small one just like this one).

One page left

Did this just flying by the seat of my pants. Not ideal, but for a fast sketch, not bad at all. Just a little height problem on the eye on the right. Of course the easiest thing will be to tweak the nose and mouth. Much easier than re-drawing the whole eye again...

I could do that, the problem is I am so picky about how those come out. When I draw a bike the whole "it must be perfect" mindset comes in.

Maybe one day when I have a good amount of time to work on it I will. Last bike drawing I did took me like 4 days to complete (this was years ago). I have since misplaced that drawing...

Wow...hope to get to this level one of these days! Of course, I haven't tried a super detailed drawing in ages. Mainly because I am so busy on my days off. Right now, volume over details.

But...wow....

Been practicing!

Nice job! You can definitely see GREAT progress! Great thing about visual arts, you have a nice record of your work and improvement.

Im glad you are not doing anime, traditional style is much better for improving your technique. The multi step one looks great! If you were doing anime..... you'd be done with number 1.

Keep up the good work!

Now I want to post too..... lol

By all means post! I'm always eager to see the work of others.

Yeah, anime is so limiting. Do I like to draw it? Sure I do. I mean it is easy to draw and kind of fun. However, being an athlete, I love a good challenge. Drawing in a more realistic fashion is by far a bigger challenge than anime.

First main piece on my 14x17 sketchpad. It is weird going to a larger media from the 5x5! hahaha

Unfortunately....drawing on the larger media has some drawbacks....
