Kill Switch

Today I installed a kill switch on my '08. I installed the switch into the side stand circuit and hid the switch itself behind a side cover. What I like about this set-up is that I can start my bike on the side stand, in neutral with the switch "armed" and go back in the house and let it warm up. If someone attempts to take off with it, the engine will be cut-off when they put it in gear.
Also, the set-up maintains the full safety functionality of the side stand switch!

Has anybody else done any kind of kill switch? I searched and didn't find anything.

But....isn't it not good to just let it sit there to warm up? Remember other users advocating that you should warm it up by riding. I should start book marking these quotes so I can reference...

Yup, warming up the bike by idling is not the best idea.

It's pretty common addition to theft prevention, and is always helpful. It can keep your pesky friends from riding when you don't want them too also! I've been considering implementing one myself, but I'm more worried about someone simply picking my bike up and taking it than hot wiring it.

When I say "warm-up", I really mean the time it takes me to go out and start my bike, put on my tail bag and go inside and grab the rest of my gear. Also, this is not an issue right now, however, I ride year round. When it is 20 degrees you want to warm the bike up a bit before taking off, especially on a non-EFI bike.

These are only my opinions.
