Ninja - 250 - 4 cylinder?
The rumor mill in south east Asia is going full steam.
I had to translate it, since it was in Thai. https://translate.google.com.ph/tran...t-text&act=url |

I thought the previous version of a 250 in inline 4, ZX2R had numerous engine problem? Are they bringing back the flaw again?

That would be pretty cool! Just like back in the good old days of 18,000 RPM 4 cyl 250s.
I'm still skeptical though... |

Seems doubtful. With all the talk of 600s going down the tube because development costs, I don't see money being thrown at an even cheaper category of bike. Making a small displacement I4 would need the corresponding frame and suspension changes to make the engine worthwhile. At that point, the R&D costs just start going negative.

A friend has an old Yamaha 4 cylinder 250. For all the complication and 19000 rpm red line it was 4 mph faster than a modified 2008 ninja 250.
I would might be cool to see a good 350cc tripple

This rumor has happened almost yearly for the past few years.
I'd love to see it happen but wonder how much of a market there'd be for 7-8k supersport 250. |
