what type of riding do you do?

i rode 52,000 miles since august 2006...since we have so many twisties and canyons nearby a great majority of those miles are on these roads...

Link to original page on Vimeo.

the rest are on freeways to get to these roads, malibu, santa monica mtns, angeles crest... and some are doing errands like going to the store

http://www.lateralg.org/roads/orange/laco.htm

...so what type of riding do you do?

mostly commuting
mostly twisties and canyons
touring
track only

I love twisties (I am from Northern CA moved to North eastern MD) but there aren't a lot around me... Whats that make me? A Twsity wannabe? I voted Twisty although it feels more like touring because I have to travel so far to find the twisties...

Nice vid. It seemed like your turned around so soon and the road would be great for several more miles.
No dis...I like the fact that when you turned around there was the push bike rider...'keeping' up with you. I understand this as I use to ride push bikes and have hit 62mph on a race bike and 55 on my MTB. BUT motorised on tight twisticales I have kept up with a 600, I was on a 4c.250.

(Life is pretty straight without twisties)

The majority of the time I spend commuting to work during the week days and on the weekends I like to ride what little twisties there are out here.

Winding desolate back roads count as twisties? Then that's what I ride on the weekends and also commute on.

A, B, and C

but I voted B because anything involving A or C I go out of my way to factor in twisties

A and C for me, but more A than anything else. I second oldguy's motion. Stop messing with us just because you've got real curves! All I have around here are straight roads and very slight curves!

I've been on every twisty canyon road in the area a few times. I'm always looking for more. I might have to go out of state soon. I rode these so much they are now straight and flat.

I needed a multiple choice answer to that one. I chose "track only" because that is where I do the most miles by far. But I also ride:

2. Daily driver, errands shopping and stuff
3. Twistys and canyons (not as often as I would like)
4. Touring (about once a year)

commute during the week sometimes. i dont commute every day because i sometimes have lots of stuff to carry with me to work, plus drivers around here suck. i got in a wreck the other week while sitting at a stoplight with traffic backed up in front of me, guy just wasnt watching where he was going. if i had been on my bike it would have been a trip to the hospital at least.

i guess i feel like if i dont ride to work every day it mitigates some of the risk involved, but that's foolish when you think about it logically.

as for the weekends there aren't any good roads around here to ride on, so I mostly go for flat/hilly (but not twisty ) roads nearby.

Mr. P, where do you live in FL? It's mountainous over here.

Hey, nice vid. How fast were you going? At certain curves, you lean angles seem to be well over 50 degrees. Were you hanging off?

I have logged between 530,000mi and 600,000mi since 1958. Up until I got my Ninjette, it was mostly touring. What I do now is a combination of touring and commuting. I do go to visit my 96 year old mother every other month, and that is 1100mi round trip. I have made that run with the Ninjette four times so far.
