Oak Hill Mini Fest

Man that was great, the weather was of course a bit hot but the teams elite trackdays and Zeb Hassis' team got 2nd and 3rd overall respectively on rentmynina.com rental bikes. They both ran the new Bridgestone 003's which went the 8hrs no problem helped according to the Bridgestone guy by the Elka shocks on the back. The Vesrah front brake pads survived well for Elite but Zeb started on a new set of stockers which did not. Another of the RMN rental teams (John Howell) got 6th overrall while the other 2 teams suffered crashes (they kept going) and were unable to keep the pace. That was a blast, lets do more of these weekends.

it was a great weekend. i was wishing i was out there battling with those 250s instead of the kx60 i was riding, but the 250s took some abuse this weekend! they had a harder time with 8 hours of racing than i thought they would. made me glad mine was sitting in the shade under the easy up

are you running 003 front and back? what size on the rear? my 090 rear kept moving around. especially coming out of T4 over the sealer strips (aka: the highside strips).

Tires at oak hill

Most of the teams got 003's 120/70 and a 140 70 in medium. the last entry team got the older rear in a 150. All of the tires made it with a bit to spare. The fast kid on the Elite trackdays entry ran a 1:38 in the 6th or 7th hour.

is the 140/70 a new size? i thought we've been running the 140/70 090 because they didn't have the 003 in the right size, but i can't remember now... my dad handled all that stuff.

Heres our tire after the 8hr. We had to use a soft, since thats all we could get on short notice.

WOW!!!! That is insane!!

How did it feel towards the end? I'd imagine it was sliding entering the corner and rolling on out of it.

Reminds me of Doug Chandler. He was so hard on his rear tire one race he easily left a streak on the ground over 10m long, and you'd see it smoke while decelerating, yet his foot was not on the brake lever.
