Thanks for the support! Its pretty fun, keeps me sane lol.

I should be coming together a little quicker hopefully but I will be dropping the bike off to the fabricator next weekend for all the turbo stuff to be mounted.

Well I decided not to run those studs, they are not the correct length and after measuring things I dont think it will be worth it. If I were going to do studs I'd just go with ARP 10mm and drill and tap the block for those.

For now I'll see how much the stock head bolts will hold :-(

Loving the simple turbo manifold. How did you handle the mating surface? Is it just a trip to the machinist or is there more to it?

Which mating surface are you talking about?

My welder took the stock pipes and I brought him a spare engine to mock everything up with.

If I decide to go with pistons I just heard back from Wossner Pistons. $200 a pop and 4 required with a 8-10 week lead time.

Maybe if someone wanted to go in on a set I'd do it but yeah $800 for pistons is outta the budget :-(

Thanks guys! I was a little worried about the return line so I ran that clear hose, I can see the oil flowing very nicely threw it so I'm very happy!

I have to put the chain and sprockets on the bike but other than that I have to hard mount the fuel system to the bike, finish up some electrical items and then start the tuning!

I am tuning threw the ECU which is a lot more time consuming so I might just take the bike to the dyne sometime soon.

I need to get some gauges to, but I am going to use the KDS tool at first.

I'll keep ya guys posted!

The biggest thing you have to think of is how you want to tune it, either carb or fuel injection. If you go fuel injection you can either find a Ecotrons kit or find all the ninja 300 FI stuff. Either way it works out to being almost the same price I believe but yeah between fuel injection and the turbo stuff you will be slightly over a grand.

Let me know if you need any help but check out Racer X's turbo build as well!

Chain and sprocket went on last night no problem.

Running something a little aggressive or no so aggressive but its a 15/40 setup with a DID ERV3 chain.

Using a gearing calculator it should put me at 131mph at 13,000 rpm.

As far as if that is correct or not I am not sure but it will be a start, I have a few other sprockets to try out but when I get it up on the dyno I will run it up to the rev limiter in 6th and see what MPH it says.

I also can up the RPM's a little if I really have to lol.

Sounds a little steep. If you make 65 hp then you can get that speed. But watch the peak on the dyno. It should be around 12500 and putting out max HP max. The torque should be close to 40 and above 11500. Gearing is very impotant. You need to be VERY close on the calculations

Yeah for sure, luckily in S FL I have plenty of empty places to do real runs and see what it will pull. I'll be doing plenty of runs on the street before the mile :-p.... in mexico that is....

Don't be surprised how easy it is to over gear. And remember the mile is from a dead stop. Can't wait to see numbers. This is a giant leap forward for 250 ninja performance. Good job gettng it this far.

Yeah I know all about the gearing man, a tooth will make or break a race. and running 201 or 198mph is a big leap when trying to outrun a 206mph busa lol

I discover a gear calculation chart. I have over 150 documented runs in the mile. I know the speed and I know what gear I used.
I went through each run and found the exact RPM. Not only did I find five or six runs that I only shifted into fifth gear. Some on purpose some not. But I found only 100 to 200 rpm between a record run and a waste of gas.

Not fun! I am using the calculator I have on my turbo250.com website which has been decently accurate for the busa and zx10r but I have yet to run this bike and log any RPM's or MPH.

The math is amazing. You find the peak hp and torque. Gear between the two and run. Document everything you can. Data is what we need at this point. That and valve springs. What are you doing for coils.

Sounds good, I have a nice data logger and always use GPS's for my top speed runs. Its going to be such a change from trying to break the 200mph barrier I have been chasing for many years.

Coils as far as ignition coils? If so I picked up ninja 300 coils, which actually I believe they are used in a few kawi models, I have access to k-dealer so I can see what parts are used where pretty easy. I picked up a few of the key components a lot cheaper on ebay searching for 600 or 650 parts instead of 300.

The stock 250 ignitikn coils are a little weak. Watch to see if power flat lines no mater what the fuel mixture. First thing I needed with nitrous. That and a clutch.

The 300's use coil sticks, I think they use the same stick in much larger bikes to may not be an issue.

I have some beef cake clutch springs I'll be trying. I'll let you know how they work.

Have you tried different temp plugs?

I use NGK cr10e plugs. The stick coils should be good. They use them in larger bikes. But they have lower cylinder pressure.

Yeah I have seen brisk plugs before, also NGK makes plugs that I think were about $50 a pop but they are gapless and have actual tests to back them up, they are weird though your supposed to warm the bike up with normal plugs and then switch to these and then go race lol.... I had them in my 04 10r because I got a free batch but yeah plugs are another can of worms lol....

Brisk supposedly does make good stuff but I am gunna stick with the NGK double electrodes for now!

@Racer x you needa step up your game!

Tonight I was able to spend a good amount of time in the garage... got all my controls mounted and holes drilled in the clipons, installed the battery tray, installed the clamps going to the plenum to the TB, routed quite a few electrical components. Mocked up where I will be mounting the fuel system and that all will fit VERY nicely so I'll hopefully have that running within a day or two.

Mounted the tail section, tank and seat, everything is fitting very nice, I just mocked up the front fairings and two things, 1 the exhaust outlet is right at the line between the upper and lower, and the charge pipe is hitting the RH side of the upper pretty good so I'll have to do some trimming there. If I eliminate the coolant resivior and relocate it I can move the charge pipe in a little more so I'll try that.

I think this would make a nice little street fighter with no uppers to! lol I guess I could run in the naked class :-p

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Had some time while the turkey was in the oven to build my 6AN lines, turbo return line, Fuel Pressure Regulator return line, and the fuel feed line.

Have to secure the fuel pump still but I should be able to pop the tank on and get the bike running with everything onto it.

I do still have to splice in the older stator plug onto the newer harness since the plugs are different.

After that I just have to put fresh oil in it and I should be able to take it down the road!

P.S. some things in the pics are a little temporary like the fuel pressure gauge and some other things lol
