Hi from Vancouver Island

Hey,
Obviously I'm new here. Just thought I'd say a general hello to people.

I don't actually own a bike yet but I'll be picking the '09 250r in the next month or so unless I hear the 2010 model is coming out relatively soon and is fuel injected. Then I'll wait for that... maybe.

Looking forward to a summer of bombing around the Island roads on my bike!

Welcome mate, from what I heard (from very, very, very reliable sources) the 2010 model will have an extra 100hp!

Where on the island do you live? My in-laws live in Nanaimo. I am thinking of one day riding from the Portland OR area up to the island. My wife would fly up, but I would like to have the bike on the island. I really like the island, and the roads seem perfect for a bike. I think the Island Highway would be a blast on the 250!

Hi Bill:
I actually live in Nanaimo. One of the first long rides I've got planned is the highway 4 out to Tofino. It's an amazing twisty 2 lane road through the mountains, out the the west coast of the island. It's about 2.5 - 3 hours one way from Nanaimo. I would recommend this ride to anyone who makes it to the island on their bike.
